Applications

KLUBO operates on an application basis, with the KLUBO team (see [[About]]) regularly convening to discuss proposals.
We accept these applications year-round via email. Rather than following a specific scheduled callout, we hope to work with you regarding timing and duration of the show.

The Space

KLUBO is a large, outdoor space situated near Blackwattle Bay in Glebe, on unceded, Gadigal land. Colonial development transformed the site into a stable, and the remains of this define the site- brick, sandstone, seasoned wood, and a concrete horse trough.
Our aim is to exhibit artworks in the context of our space. We encourage you to interpret what defines (this) space and how site relates to your work in your application.
The nature of exhibiting art in the context of the wider world means that your work will be exposed to the elements for the duration of the show. While we can work with you to protect the work from the worst of the rain and sun, shows (especially those open longer than one day or night) will be exposed to the elements. Please keep this in mind when applying.

KLUBO is an outdoor space contextualised by the city around it. It has been used as a stable and is currently a semi-wild urban garden used for exhibitions of artwork.
Our aim is to nurture the new strand of art in the Sydney scene which is adapting to high rent and low support by turning off-site and contextualising work within the human environment.
